ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION IS NOT A VICTIMLESS CRIME
Apologists for illegal immigration like to paint it as a victimless crime. But in fact, illegal immigration causes substantial harm to American citizens and legal immigrants, particularly those in the most vulnerable sectors of our population--the poor, minorities, and children.

Does Illegal Immigration Really Cause Crime? - The Wire

Illegal immigration causes an enormous drain on public funds. The seminal study of the costs of immigration by the National Academy of Sciences found that the taxes paid by immigrants do not begin to cover the cost of services received by them. The quality of education, health care and other services for Americans are undermined by the needs of endless numbers of poor, unskilled illegal entrants.

Problems with immigration: 1) The U.S. turns its back on illegal immigration because we can then hire people at slave wages. This is one of the several reasons that U.S. citizens feel richer than they are, and they then consume more than they should. 2) Illegal immigration is unfair to people on the other side of the world who wait patiently for a visa, pay $150 to apply for a visa, then lose that money when the visa is turned down. Many times more are turned down than are accepted. 3) Only the people who are better off can afford to immigrate, who can afford an airline ticket. People who make only 2 dollars a day (2 billion people) cannot afford it. 4) There is tremendous brain drain - the smarter people immigrate, leaving behind the seed bed for more corruption and exploitation. 5) When so manymigrate from a country (9% of Mexican born people are in the U.S.), this relieves the pressure to have fewer children.

Apologists for illegal immigration try to paint it as a victimless crime, but the fact is that illegal immigration causes substantial harm to American citizens and legal immigrants, particularly those in the most vulnerable sectors of our population — the poor, minorities, and children. But we shouldn’t forget about reverse of the coin. Immigration has its negative consequences as well. Pretty often immigration causes dissatisfaction of native citizens: it leads to racism, increased antagonism and other social problems. Take for instance the situation with Spanish speaking people in the USA. Many of them do not speak English at all, they are illegal immigrants, so they cannot reckon on social benefits or support from the government. More often they do rough work and receive paltry wages for their backbreaking labour. It seems to me that such people can be called “modern slaves”; because of fear to lose even these low-paid jobs they are ready to work extra hours and receive almost nothing for work. These people live in poverty, they settle in poor districts, where rate of criminality is high and insanitary conditions prevail in the majority of houses, it is often occurs that people from these districts sell or take drugs, become involved into prostitution, etc. As the result native citizens are dissatisfied with afflux of such immigrants, it deepens such social problems as racism, antagonism and chauvinism.

Yaron Answers: Does Immigration Cause Unemployment?

When it comes to wages, reasonable economists disagree about immigrants’ impact, but they do not find any decline in wages caused by immigration. Instead, they debate whether immigration causes the wages of high school dropouts to fall by as much as 7 percent or whether their wages slightly increase. Economists also debate about how temporary any negative impacts on wages might be.
